I have tried many supplements over the years. Some I’ve stopped using because I didn’t notice a difference. I Will always aim to keep astaxanthin as part of my stack. Not the way sunscreen does, and it is not a replacement for one. In a placebo-controlled trial, astaxanthin increased the amount of UV exposure skin could take before it reddened. That is your skin's own resistance being supported from the inside, not a barrier applied on top. Keep wearing SPF.
How fast will I notice a difference?
It depends on what you're taking it for. Eye focus and screen comfort often improve within about four weeks. Skin and joint benefits build over one to two months. Astaxanthin is cumulative, so consistency matters more than any single day.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
The astaxanthin itself is plant-derived, from microalgae. The softgel shell is made from gelatin, so it isn't suitable for strict vegans. It is suitable for most vegetarians who are comfortable with gelatin.
